10. Why can't I hotlink from other sites?

A. Hot-linking is not allowed because it is basically stealing bandwidth, which the webmaster has to pay for, and it can get us shutdown, especially if the webmaster of the site you hot-linked from files a complaint with the Abuse Dept of our host. It can also get us shut down if they decide to replace the image with an image that is obscene or pornographic or otherwise illegal in nature. So to further protect us from such an occurrence, hot-linking is not allowed. It doesn't matter if the site you hot-linked from belongs to your mother, your cousin, brother, lover etc..

Please don't do it.

11. Where on ND can I advertise my forum or website?

A. Absolutely nowhere.

Please understand, that while Nexus Destinations is a travel and general discussion forum, it is also a business. That being said, if you wouldn't see Wendy's running advertisements for McDonald's, then you shouldn't expect to advertise your site here for the same reason.

While you are more than welcome to have a signature for purposes of being unique or creative, it must not contain a link or any type of advertisement for this reason.
