4. How do I subscribe/unsubscribe to a topic?
A. You can subscribe to the thread by scrolling down to the end of the topic, and on the left-hand side, just underneath the "Quick Reply" box, click the link that says "Subscribe to this thread." This way you'll get an email every time someone replies, and you can end your subscription at anytime via your User CP.

2. Which areas have the post counts disabled? Why are the counts in these areas disabled?
A. The only areas, that are post-disabled, are the "News & Updates" and "Intros and Member News" and "Nexus Labs" sections. The reason for this is because the "News & Updates" area is more or less a log of changes and news regarding the forum. I didn't want my continual updates to add to my post count, and so I had decided to disable counts in that area. The reason that the Intros area is post count disabled, is because in the past, there have been members posting in every topic in that area only to get their post count up without contributing anything to the rest of the forum. The reason that post counts are disabled in Nexus Labs, is because it is intended for testing purposes only.

3. How do I find a lost topic?
A. The point of this is to show you how to find topics you think may be lost. For the record, we don't delete topics here.. well, for the most part that is true. We delete the RSS feeds that didn't get any replies, and topics that break the rules, but that is it. The reason you can't find the topic you are looking for is because the forum you posted it in hides topics that haven't been replied to in 30 days. To find it, you can do either of the following: A. Use the "Search" feature. B. Go to your profile by clicking on your username. and then click the "Topics" tab. Your profile shows the last 5 topics you started.. so if you reply to others' topics, more than you start your own, then this may help you. C. Go to the forum that you posted it in, and then change the display settings from "30 days" to "beginning" in the area that says "Showing topics sorted by" then click the button that says "Go." Once you do that, it will show every topic from the time you chose, and then you can just go from there. If you know where you posted your topic, you can also do a "keyword search" from within that forum. |
